Tough Times in Vacaville

Coach Brian Gray’s Quote of the Game: “Team finally came up against some stiff competition, and were up to the task. We out played and out shot Sac State.  Unfortunately,  We ran into a hot goalie. The difference in the game was our power versus theirs. We moved the puck well but we couldn’t finish.”

With their first league game of the year, the Broncos traveled up to Vacaville early Sunday morning to go skate –to-skate against Sac State. The players were anxious to get the first league match-up under their belts, but the outcome would not go in their favor. The Hornets came out buzzing and put a flurry of shots on the Bronco’s net. The Hornets had a few early goals, but the Broncos still came out playing with determination to win the game. Chris Tanzola had a great goal. He was able to deke the Hornets defense and put the puck in the back of the net. Although the team put a lot of effort into their play, they were not able to bring home the win. At the end of three periods the Bronco’s left the ice with the 8-4 win going to the Hornets.

Despite the Bronco’s loss this game broke new ground by becoming the first live streamed game for the club. Former Club President, and player, Joey Tinker made club history by streaming the play by play live via the internet. The team appreciates Joey remaining part of the team in this capacity, and hopes to have more games streamed live in the future.
